Fun Updates!

Culture Night Script!
I hope you're all working on those awesome culture night scripts! Yes, yes? If you are, please make sure to e-mail Richard at culturenight@cauci.com by August 29th (5 days from now!) just to let him know that you're planning on submitting one. The due date for culture night scripts is September 10th!

Boba Sales!
Yay, there's more boba sales! Take a break from classes and come visit us at our booth! We'll be selling later today (Tuesday, 8/24!) and tomorrow (Wednesday, 8/25!) from 11am to 4pm! We'll have both regular AND taro milk teas! Whoooo!

Fall Sports and Late Night at the ARC!
Here's a message from your sports cooooord!
"For Fall Sports, Chris Chui will be having Coed Flag Football, Volleyball (M, W), Basketball (M, W, CoEd), and Tennis! If you have any slight of interest, please email Chui, the Sports Coordinator (sports@cauci.com). Also, if we have enough members for a team, I can sign up a team for Soccer and Tennis Singles. And like every week, CA will still be having ARC Workout Buddies! Email Chui if you are interested in any of these!"
Also, make sure to join us at Late Night at the ARC! It's September 20th from 8pm to 4am! If you're interested in playing dodgeball, contact Chui!

Play-offs, TV taping, and more Boba sales!

Play Offs!
Congraaaats to basketball! They won the first of their playoffs match last week! They'll be playing again tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8pm! So make sure to come out and support! Also, volleyball has their last game TONIGHT (Tuesday) at 7pm, FOR THE GOLD! It'll be at the arc so bring all your CA spirit to cheer them on!

TV Taping!
Don't forget to sign up for the August 31st TV taping of Rules of Engagement! Contact Claire at fundraiser@cauci.com! It'll be a lot of fun!

Boba Sale!
We'll be selling on both Wednesday and Thursday of this week from 11am - 4pm! So make sure to come and chill with us and refresh yourself with boba from the Diamond Jamboree lollicup! There will be a limited number of taro milk tea as well!

Congratulations and Fun Stuff!

CA Dance Crew!
Make sure to congratulate our super dance crew members! They placed 3rd in the US and 11th in the world at hip hop international! How exciting! They're like celebrities!

CA Dragon Boat!
The dragon boat team rowed their way to first in Division B at the baby long beach race! It was super intense! Good job dragon boat!

Sports!
Congratulations to our summer volleyball team for winning the first playoffs match! There's more to come, so make sure to support them next Tuesday 7pm at the ARC! Practice will be held on Monday 6pm at the ARC! And don't forget to come and cheer for our basketball team this THURSDAY 8pm at the ARC! It's their first playoffs match, so bring all your CA spirit!

OC Fair!
IT'S TODAY! How exciting! A great way to relax and clog your arteries with fried food! Come hang out with your fellow CA members and don't forget those school supplies! It's going to be a day full of fun!

Boba Sale!
We're having our super famous boba sale on BOTH Wednesday and Thursday! Wednesday will be from 11-1pm (shortened due to the OC Fair trip) and Thursday will be from 11-4! There will even be a limited number of the oh-so-special TARO milk tea! So make sure to get there nice and early to grab those rare taro bobas!

ARC Workout Buddies!
Make sure to join the facebook group HERE to find out when all of our fun workout sessions are! It's a fun way to get in shape! You can also contact our sports coordinator, Chris Chui, at sports@cauci.com or text his phone, (510) 735-7003!

TV Taping!
On August 31st, we'll be going to the tv taping of Rules of Engagement! Love the show? This is the event for you! Never heard of it? It's cool, I haven't either, so come! Not in either of these categories? Join us anyway! We'll be leaving short term at 2pm and will be driving to Culver City! The taping will last until 10pm. An afternoon of friends, laughter, and a good show! Contact Claire to sign up for this event as spaces are limited -- her e-mail is fundraising@cauci.com!

Events to Look Out For!

Playoffs!
Next week is playoffs for both volleyball and basketball! Make sure to come out and support! If you want to play in playoffs, make sure to attend the games THIS WEEK if you haven't played in prior game (we can't play players in playoffs if they haven't been in a previous game...). BUT YEAH BRING THAT CA SPIRIT WHOOO!

Boba Sale!
This Thursday we're having another Boba Sale! Come to buy refreshing drinks and hang out with cool people!

OC Fair!
Coming up next week (on August 11th) is the CA trip to the OC Fair! Bring a school supply item worth $3 or more for this community outreach event! See you all there!

CADB Race!
Come out and support the dragon boat team at the long beach race! It's THIS WEEKEND (both on Saturday (7/31) and Sunday (8/1)!) and Saturday board members will be providing rides to long beach at 10:30 am at short term parking. Else, you can always meet up with us at 5255 E. Paoli Way, Long Beach, CA 90803.

CA Arc Workout Buddies!
Here's a message from your sports coord, Chui!
Do you want to have a BEACH BODY? If yes, text your Sports Coordinator, Chris Chui at 510-735-7003, your number and say you want to join the CA ARC Workout Buddies Group! He will then send out mass texts whenever a few CA members will hit up the ARC! Also, join the facebook group! "CA ARC Workout Buddies Group"

Another boba sale?! How exciting! It'll be this coming Thursday (8/5) from 11am to 4pm on ring road! Chill and drink boba with us! It will be fun, as always!

More Culture Night Script Info!
Here's a blurb from Richard regarding Culture Night scripts! Wheeee~
We are still looking for scripts for the 25th anniversary of Chinese Association’s Culture Night. If you have an idea for the show or have an imaginative and creative mind, write a script for Culture Night and watch your production be the potential talk of the year! The sooner the script is made, the sooner we can plan, so get those scripts in! Here are some guidelines and items to include in the script: Scenes that would showcase our CAUCI’s constituents, accommodation for cultural dances, themes that focus on Chinese culture, history and traditions (be them past, present or future), and finally be within limits of propriety; be considerate of young children and families in both language and content.
So get those scripts in! And don't forget to e-mail as an attachment to Richard at culturenight@cauci.com and make sure the attachment does NOT include your name!

Orientation!
Make sure to check out our booth on September 22nd for the club fair! It will have information on our ORIENTATION (yes, yes, exciting I know) as well as your super awesome board members!

July 22nd - BOBA SALE!
Come check out our booth THIS COMING THURSDAY for BOBA! It's a nice refreshment after classes, plus it's a nice chance to just hang out with friends when you're bored~!

August 11th - OC Fair!

September 19th - Light the Night!
This community outreach event is at Angel Stadium! How exciting! The Light the Night Walk benifits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, so make sure to mark your calendars for this event! 2010-2011 Secretary?!
You're secretary for the 2010-2011 School Year is....*drumroll*....Josh Huang! Whooo! So now you know all your board members for the next year! How exciting!

Basketball Practice and Volleyball Game News!
Summer Men's Basketball practice will be on TUESDAY (7/13) this week at 6PM on the VDC basketball courts! Also, come out and support both of our summer sports! Volleyball has a double header this Tuesday starting at 7, and Basketball has a match at 8pm on Wednesday! If you are interested at all in playing for either of our summer sports (basketball and volleyball), please contact our sports coord, Chris, at sports@cauci.com!

Culture Night Scripts!
Still working on those Culture Night scripts, right? Well, the due date has been set to August 29th! Make sure to get those ideas and scripts in before that deadline! Remember to add scripts as an attachment that does not include your name (we want to keep things anonymous!) in an e-mail to our Culture Chair, Richard, at culturenight@cauci.com!

Volleyball : Every Tuesday at 7pm, starting from July 6th NOTE: We ended up getting a by on the 6th instead, so first game will be on July 13th!
Men's Basketball : Every Wednesday, 7pm - 8pm starting from July 7th!

This year marks the beginning of the 25th anniversary of Chinese Association's Culture Night and it is going to be legend... wait for it… dary! Anywho we are already looking and brainstorming ideas for this year's show. So, if you have any ideas for the story line or have an imaginative and creative mind, write a script for Culture Night and watch your production be the talk of the year :D! The sooner the script is made, the sooner we can plan, so get them in! Email any scripts, ideas, or questions to me, your cultural chair, at culturenight@cauci.com.
